TECHNOLOGIST.
FOUNDER.
BUILDER.
I build software, infrastructure and creative technology — and write about the craft. Founder of Bitstream Media.
About
I’m David Fabri, a builder based in Sydney, and the founder of Bitstream Media.
I’ve been pulling things apart to see how they work for as long as I can remember, and not much has changed except the things. These days they’re websites and web apps, native macOS software, and a home lab that exists mostly so I always have something to break.
The studio is where most of it lands. I design and build for the web across the stack, and I make native macOS tools for live video production, the Spectra suite, which got started in a venue at 3am because I had a real problem and nothing that solved it. That’s the pattern with most of what I make: I build the tools I keep wishing existed, then find out whether anyone else wished for them too.
I’ve spent over a decade in IT, which has taught me roughly equal amounts about systems and about people, and I use AI every day in how I think and ship. When I’m not building, I write about the craft behind it, including the trade-offs, the dead ends, and the problems nobody else seems to mention.

Work
I work across a few different worlds — creative technology, IT infrastructure, and the web — plus the automation that ties them together.
Bitstream Media
My creative-technology studio — native macOS tools for live production, screen mapping and real-time visuals.
bitstreammedia.com.au ↗Infrastructure & IT
At RWTS: Proxmox, networking, Tailscale/Headscale, telephony and the platforms that keep a managed-service provider running.
rwts.com.au ↗Web & applications
Websites and full-stack web apps, end to end — Django, WordPress, React, and the deployment underneath them.
AI & automation
I build with AI every day — agents, integrations and automation woven through how I design, code and ship.
